Integration Assistance for Data Center Environment Monitoring

Many data centers have already established environment monitoring systems, monitoring various indicators from temperature and humidity to security systems. However, manufacturers of【environment monitoring systems】for computer rooms may not be familiar with the maintenance and operational status of servers, operating systems, application systems, network connections, or network equipment. This results in a completely independent monitoring system that cannot be integrated with the overall IT operations system. The data and status messages it collects cannot be provided to other monitoring systems for integrated application, nor can the monitoring screens be integrated.

Even with an established environment monitoring system, it may still feel insufficient due to the following factors:
➢ Insufficient setup: The original manufacturer can no longer provide support or needs to rebuild, making the monitoring system unable to meet current needs.
➢ Service limitations: Proxy products cannot provide advanced services or add and modify system programs, limiting the system's expandability and flexibility.
➢ Supplementary needs: Only some monitoring equipment needs to be strengthened or supplemented to improve the existing system.
➢ Data integration needs: Integration of the original environment monitoring system data status and alarm messages, or the alarm notification list.
➢ Control needs: Control information equipment (such as server shutdown) based on the original environment monitoring system data or alarms.
➢ Monitoring screen integration: Integrate the monitoring screens of the original environment monitoring system into the operations center.

Watchdog can strengthen and assist IT room environment monitoring, including:
➢ Uninterruptible Power Supply - UPS: Ensures that critical equipment continues to operate during power outages.
➢ Temperature and humidity sensors: Real-time monitoring of the data center environment to ensure equipment operates in optimal conditions.
➢ Real-time snapshots from network cameras: Provide snapshot monitoring to enhance security and immediate response capability.
➢ Rack PDU power system: Monitor and manage power supply to ensure stable equipment operation.
➢ Digital Input (DI) and Digital Output (DO): Includes infrared sensors, access control sensors, water leakage detection, etc., to enhance the security and environmental monitoring capabilities of the data center.

By integrating and enhancing through the WATCHDOG system, the information center can achieve higher efficiency and stronger operational reliability, better meeting business needs and challenges.
